He Fa does not make isolated objects. He builds situations in which real relations become exposed.

Beginning with photography, his practice moved through designed objects, non-standard sites and long-term theatre into cinema, then expanded toward sound, data, AI moving image and code. Media change; the question persists: How does looking organize relations? How can lived experience be produced, exposed, recorded and generated again?

A practice continually moving outward

01

Seeing

The image is not a record but a structure for organizing sight.

02

Form

Texture and order become object, surface and space.

03

Site

Space becomes action, relation and collective.

04

Cinema

Long-term life and theatre enter the camera.

05

Generation

Film continues as sound, data, model and code.

Selected works

These projects are not separate career entries. Together they form a continuous chain from image and structure to live situation, cinema and generative system.

P4

Theatre as method

P4 does not understand theatre as a finished object on stage. It treats theatre as a method for organizing space, spectators, action and failure. Abandoned factories, offices, boxing gyms, bookstores and private rooms become live sites; rehearsal, open calls, writing, community, recording and unfinished relations all enter the work.

01

Non-standard sites

Turn the limits of an existing place into conditions of the work.

02

Relational structure

Reorganize who sees, who speaks and who carries consequences before producing plot.

03

Recursive image

Return production conditions, recording mechanisms and later analysis to the work.

04

Generative systems

Translate cinema onward into sound, text, data, AI and code.
