Non-standard sites
Turn the limits of an existing place into conditions of the work.

Interdisciplinary art practice / Beijing
Photography, spatial practice, relational theatre, fugitive cinema and post-cinematic systems.
View worksBeginning with photography, his practice moved through designed objects, non-standard sites and long-term theatre into cinema, then expanded toward sound, data, AI moving image and code. Media change; the question persists: How does looking organize relations? How can lived experience be produced, exposed, recorded and generated again?
The image is not a record but a structure for organizing sight.
Texture and order become object, surface and space.
Space becomes action, relation and collective.
Long-term life and theatre enter the camera.
Film continues as sound, data, model and code.
These projects are not separate career entries. Together they form a continuous chain from image and structure to live situation, cinema and generative system.

Human Surrender Faction grew from the lived collective of P4 Theatre. It is both a film and a long-term experiment in intimacy, directorial power, performance and the ethics of looking.
P4 does not understand theatre as a finished object on stage. It treats theatre as a method for organizing space, spectators, action and failure. Abandoned factories, offices, boxing gyms, bookstores and private rooms become live sites; rehearsal, open calls, writing, community, recording and unfinished relations all enter the work.
Turn the limits of an existing place into conditions of the work.
Reorganize who sees, who speaks and who carries consequences before producing plot.
Return production conditions, recording mechanisms and later analysis to the work.
Translate cinema onward into sound, text, data, AI and code.
